2025 Open Positions on the Executive Board

The Idaho Young Democrats Executive Board is looking for young people who are energized and dedicated to building progressive governing power in Idaho.

The Executive Board is the governing body of the Idaho Young Democrats. Our mission is to promote equality in politics, advocate for progressive issues, empower Idaho’s youth, and bridge the gap between urban and rural Idahoans.

Members of the Executive Board work with local chapters and members of the Idaho Democratic Party to elect Democrats across Idaho.

These positions are volunteer only and will be appointed by the Executive Board.

There are three opportunities to get involved with the Executive Board:

  • Vice President

    • The Vice President supports the President and Executive Board in leading the organization and helps ensure meetings run smoothly and effectively. They assist with planning agendas, help facilitate meetings, and step in to fulfill the President’s duties when the President is unavailable.

In the event of a vacancy in the presidency, the Vice President assumes the role and all its responsibilities. This role also serves as Secretary for the Executive Board—keeping meeting minutes, attendance records, and vote tallies—and works with the Communications Chair to make sure all meetings are well-publicized.

  • Inclusivity Chair

    • The Inclusivity Chair works to ensure that all voices are represented and valued within IDYD. They build connections with underrepresented groups, arrange conversations between these groups and organizational leaders, and help chapters create welcoming and inclusive spaces.

They work to create partnerships with other organizations, support cultural activities, and provide guidance on diversity and inclusion to the Executive Committee. This role is central to fostering equity and belonging across all IDYD chapters.

  • Parliamentarian

    • The Parliamentarian helps keep IDYD running smoothly and in line with its bylaws. They maintain and update the organization’s bylaws, draft proposed changes when needed, and make sure our rules stay consistent with the Young Democrats of America.

They also support board operations by reviewing meeting minutes, helping maintain order during meetings, and assisting the Treasurer with collecting any owed funds. The Parliamentarian ensures our meetings are organized and our processes are fair, transparent, and up to date.

Please note that positions will last until January 2026 and you will need to apply for re-election*
